Metabolic-Vascular Innovation Technician in Cardiovascular Research
Job Description
The laboratory of Dr. Pengchun Yu at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. We are part of the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program at OMRF. Our research focuses on the interface between cellular metabolism and vascular biology. Specifically, we aim to elucidate the crosstalk between metabolic programs and angiogenic signaling events and to understand the involvement of cellular metabolism in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases. Multidisciplinary strategies will be employed, ranging from novel genetically-modified mouse models to cutting-edge systems biology tools including metabolomics and single-cell transcriptome analysis.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
-Mammalian cell culture and genetic manipulation
-Biochemical and cell biology experiments to assess gene expression and function
-Mouse tissue dissection, immunohistochemistry, and confocal imaging
-Detailed documentation of experiments and results
-Participation in lab and department meetings
Job Requirements
BS/BA/MS degree in one of the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience. Familiarity with basic lab techniques in molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry. Strong ability to coordinate day-to-day work, and follow protocols to complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments. Ability to record detailed procedures and results. Familiarity with the internet and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication skills. Willingness to work collaboratively with others, as well as independently in areas of proficiency.
